Kungfu Punctuation

Week 2 in 4MB
Another exciting week in 4MB. Here are some of the highlights from our week:
English -
  • We THRASSed out our spelling words for the week and looked at the consonant and vowel phonemes.
  • Put our spelling words into sentences and looked at ways we can uplevel our work.
  • We worked on some more of our Kungfu Punctuation. Please see video below of us practising.
  • Worked on a narrative using a picture stimulus.
Maths -
  • Continued working on whole number - place value, rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100, ordering numbers and mystery numbers
Science -
  • Experimented with Heat Transfer and investigated how long it would take warm water to cool to room temperature and cold water warm to room temperature.
Health -
  • Discovered that we all have some wonderful positive traits!
We have started a few reward systems in class. Students have the opportunity to earn a 'brag tag' when they demonstrate a particular Learning@StLukes disposition in class. Students also have the opportunity to nominate their peers with a 'spotto' when they witness their peers demonstrating exceptional empathetic or kind behaviour towards each other. It was very pleasing to see students acknowledging and recognising each other's positive behaviour.

I look forward to meeting all the parents of 4MB on Monday night at the upcoming Parent Information Night.
